New Mexico Field Locations |
|
G-Camp visits several geological locations in New Mexico. We travel to Capulin National Monument to examine a recent cinder cone and associated lava flows. We also examine modern aeolian environments at White Sands National Monument where we study sand dune formation. We also will examine a lava flow to study classic examples of pahoehoe lava at Carrizzo. We will also examine arid environments in the northern part of the state, and visit Bandelier to study the volcanics and welded tuffs of the Valles Caldera. We will then travel from Sante Fe to Taos to study the Rio Grande trench.
See some of the highlights we have planned on the geological map below and then go home with us to Texas.
